The evolution of wireless networks has stimulated advances in personal mobile information interfaces. The need for system displays that incorporate sophisticated human-friendly interfaces is widely recognized. The system display of the future will be a combination of a pixel array and an integrated system on the substrate. To provide platform for such systems, advances to be made in MACRO cell libraries and sub-micrometer TFT process technology are essential. Similar advances in device and process technologies are also important stepping stones.
