FACTORS INFLUENCING THE CHOICE OF A CAREER IN SOFTWARE TESTING AMONG NORWEGIAN STUDENTS

There is an identified need of software testers in thernindustry with the required number of testers beingrnexpected to increase, yet the future candidates looking forrnpositions in software industry tend to lean towardsrnsoftware development coding rather than software testing.rnIn the same time, there is a gap between the education andrnindustry needs with graduating students not being fullyrnprepared or having the required skills when entering therntesting industry. In addition to these factors, we noticed arnreluctance towards this professional choice amongrnstudents. In this paper we look into the elementsrninfluencing the students when making a career choice inrnthe direction of software testing.
