Phagocytosis and killing activity of human polymorphonuclear cells against two different forms of candida albicans, conidia and hyphae

Cadida albicans reveals morphologically two different forms, such as condia and hyphae. Hyphae is, pathologically, said to be more important than conidia. We investigated whethar human polymorphonuclear cells(PMNs) show different response to conidia and hyphase in vitro, as to phagocytosis superoxide production and killing activity.
