HELICOPTER SIMULATION; QUESTIONS STILL OUTSTANDING DATAPACKAGE, PARTS, SIMSOFT, GREY BOXES, REVERSE ENGINEERING, REHOST, ... THE SAME QUESTIONS 10 YEARS LATER ?

Even if the number of helicopter simulators is still less than 10% of the number of civil aeroplane simulators and the civil helicopter simulators are not a lot more than a handful, the helicopter simulation is developing and credits are being granted to the various Synthetic Training Devices. The development of simulator training brings to the fore problems that have been dealt with more than 10 years ago for civil aeroplanes and have still to be properly addressed for helicopters. The paper presents some views and proposals for progress.
