In order to improve decision support throughrnknowledge management it is becoming increasingly importantrnto link Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)rnsystems with data warehouses, business intelligence andrnknowledge management applications. In the context ofrnefficient definition and execution of strategies it isrnfurthermore a key issue to combine internal and externalrnas well as quantitative and qualitative information. ThernInternet is already one of the most important media forrnaccessing external data and it might continue to grow inrnsignificance. In the research project MINT (ManagementrnInformation from the INTernet) supported by SAP AGrnand the Bavarian Research Center for Knowledge-basedrnSystems the prototype of an Editorial Workbench hasrnbeen developed. This system helps to manage knowledgernspread in internal and external sources in order torndistribute the right information to the responsible managerrnin time. SAP decided to use the prototype for therndevelopment of their new product Strategic EnterprisernManagement (SEM)?.
