Powder metallurgy Ti6A14V components are under active development because of their properties and potential for weight reduction in vehicle applications. A single press single-sinter process was selected for study in this work to achieve a low manufacturing cost. Different temperatures and heating rates were used to sinter hydride-dehydride (HDH) prealloyed and Armstrong process prealloyed (ARM) Ti6A14V powder compacts to evaluate the densification properties. HDH powder also mixed with ARM powder with three ways. ARM powder provides higher sintered density (99.7%) and better mechanical properties (310 ksi flexural strength and 7.8% fracture strain) than the HDH powder (85.8% sintered density, 182 ksi and 4.2% fracture strain) when sintered at 1371℃ for 90 min. Best mechanical properties combination of 309 ksi flexural strength and 10% fracture strain were obtained for the mixtures of HDH and ARM powder.
