TOWARDS A SYSTEM OF SYSTEMS METHODOLOGIES, ONCE AGAIN

Modern systems engineering continues to evolve and isrnfaced with an emerging challenge involving therninteroperability and integration of complex systems.rnThe development of an expanded system of systemsrnmethodologies, which includes the emerging context,rnis warranted. This paper is organized to first show thernevolution of the system of systems methodologies andrnhow the existing framework was developed. Second,rnthe concepts surrounding the interoperability andrnintegration of complex systems and this unique contextrnare discussed. Finally, the framework for an expandedrnsystem of systems methodologies (based upon thernwork of Michael Jackson), which includes thernemerging context, is presented.
