Composite Choke and Kill Lines

摘要

Replacement of existing steel choke and kill lines on a drillingrnriser string with composite lines will result in weight savingsrnthat will allow third generation mobile offshore drilling unitsrnto operate in 6,000 feet of water depth without undergoingrnmajor upgrades. The design and analysis, fabrication andrnqualification testing of high pressure (15,000 psi) compositernchoke and kill lines is discussed. The objective is to develop arnlow-cost composite design of reliability equivalent to that ofrnexisting metal systems.
