Automatic pigtailing of passive integrated optics components with large number of ports

Abstract: A pigtailing process is presented which is based on flip chip assembling and fiber mass preparation. The technique is automated and it is suitable for chips with a high number of ports from several integrated optics technologies. Fast fully passive chip/fibers connection and high performances active pigtailing are demonstrated. !10
