Increasing Efficiency of Water and Energy Supply Systems in Southern Region Environment of Russian Federation

The article deals with the issues of increasing the energy efficiency of water and energy supply technologies in the southern region environment of the Russian Federation through the recuperation of energy in reverse osmosis units. An analysis was made of the use of water resources in the southern regions. Qualitative indicators of surface and groundwaters of the Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan regions, Krasnodar Territory and the republics of Kalmykia and Adygea are determined, based on which water treatment technologies are proposed for their use for the needs of decentralized drinking water supply in small settlements. A comparative analysis of technologies for water treatment of surface and sea water is carried out using ultrafiltration methods, nanofiltration, depending on the possibility of recovering the energy of the concentrate stream. A justification is given for the planned laboratory studies to determine the efficiency of using membrane element-based units on decentralized water and energy supply to small settlements.
