PURPOSE: A control method of a drum-type washing machine is provided to reduce the amount of the water that is supplied and fed again by wetting sufficiently the laundry and to decrease the power consumption of a heater by heating quickly the water. CONSTITUTION: A drum-type washing machine is composed of a water supply valve for controlling the water fed into a tub; a motor for rotating a drum positioned in the tub; a circulation pump for pumping and circulating the water, which is supplied into the tub, to the inside of the drum; and a heater for heating the water fed into the tub. A control method for the washing machine comprises a first step composed of a first course for turning on the water supply valve, the pump, and the heater, a second course for turning off the water supply valve, and a third course for turning off the circulation pump and the heater(S101,S102,S103); a second step for executing repeatedly the first step; a third step for turning on the motor(S107); a fourth step for turning on the circulation pump(S108); and a fifth step for turning off the motor and the circulation pump(S109).
