PURPOSE: A steam generation device of a drum-type washing machine is provided to make a container compact by refilling the water in the small container and generating steam by controls of a water level sensor. CONSTITUTION: A steam generation device of a drum-type washing machine is composed of a first container(100) with an opened upside, installed with a heater(125) therein, and bored through with a steam exhaust passage(150) from the inside to the outside and a second container(200) formed with an opened lower side, mounted with a water level sensor(160) for detecting the level of the water, arranged with a water supply port at one side, and combined with the first container to form facing opened areas into a space that is closed from the outside. The water level sensor is disposed in the center of the second container.
