PURPOSE: A steam generation device of a drum-type washing machine is provided to save the cost and to make the inside of the device clean by draining naturally the residual water protecting a heater together with the existing residual water through a siphon cap. CONSTITUTION: A steam generation device of a drum-type washing machine is composed of a first container(100) formed with an opened upside, installed with a heater therein, and having a steam exhaust passage(150) penetrated from the inside to the outside and a second container(200) formed with an opened lower side, arranged with a water supply port on one side, having a drain unit(220) for discharging the water by a siphon theory penetrated from the inside to the outside, and combined with the first container to make facing opened areas closed from the outside.
