摘要

Monitoring of fluid level and controlling it is an essential feature in continuous process industries. The process comprises two parts, sensing the fluid level using a level sensor and controlling the same using a real time controlling software. In this work we propose to use RADAR LEVEL TRANSMITTER for accurate level measurement and LabVIEW of National Instruments, USA as the controlling software.Radar level transmitter operates by beaming microwaves downward from a sensor to the fluid surface and receives back a portion of the reflected energy. The total time duration is used to calculate the fluid level.The signal is then converted to digital format and fed to the computer using wireless data acquisitions. A set point is fixed as reference. The generated error signal can be recorded and analysed graphically using PID TOOLKIT VI .The recorded output is used to optimize the storage capacity of tanks and prevent spillage.
