Investigation of boundary-layer control using localized plasma discharges generated by microwave radiation was performed in the Aerodynamic Facility for Interdisciplinary Research (AFIR). Experiments showed the flow separation delay at pre-stall angles of attack and lift coefficients raised by 15% together with drag dropped by 5%. Experiments proved efficiency of the developed plasma-control method of flow optimization through modification of its turbulent structure. AFIR features as well as the testing and data reduction procedure are described.
