Replacement of Cranston Viaducts Using Spliced Bulb-Tee Girder Technology

摘要

This paper presents the highlights of the design, and construction of the new twin Cranston Viaducts, focusing on NEBT girder design, splicing techniques, erection methods, electrifi ed railroad tracks, grouting and post-tensioning, deck system, and fi nally, problems encounted and lessons learned. The construction staging is also briefl y discussed.
