Electra is a repetitively pulsed, electron beam pumped krypton fluoride (KrF) laser at the Naval Research Laboratory. Electra has operated as an oscillator and produced 500 J per pulse at a rep-rate of 1 Hz in ten shot bursts. Partial pressures of Ar, Kr and F_2 were optimized for oscillator energy output and compared to theory. Theoretical Rigrod formalism was applied to single pass gain measurements as well as oscillator measurements. The small signal gain (g_0) of 0.053 cm~(-1) and saturation intensity (I_s) of 3.0 MW/cm~2 was attained from single pass gain measurements of the Electra laser cell with a 700 kW/cc electron beam pump rate.
