A protective McAb 1B5 influences adherence of C.albicans to human epithelial and endothelial cells

Recently, we produced a protective McAb-1B5 against Candida albicans, its immunoglobulin isotpyes belong to IgM. The McAb could reconize a cell wall antigen (MW:32KD) in the DTT extract of Candida albicans cell. In this article, McAb 1B5 was used in study of adherence of Candida albicans to human buccal epithelial and umbilical vein endothelia cells to find whether this McAb could influence the adherence or not. Conclusion: the adherence of Candida albicans to epithelial and endothelial cells were suppressed obviously by McAb 1B5, in a dose-dependent manner. So, we suggested that influencing the adherence of Candida albicans to host cell maybe is one of the protective mechanisms of McAb 1B5.
