A study on control characteristics of orthogonal core controllable reactor

摘要

This paper presents a quantitative analysis of the ferrite orthogonal core controllable reactor (FOC-CR). FOC-CR is varied by its dc bias magnetic field. We propose a 3-dimentional magnetic field analysis model of FOR-CR based on ANSOFT. Through ANSOFT simulation, the control characteristics can be calculated. Furthermore, we developed an experimental prototype of FOC-CR. Calculation results show that the control characteristics of FOC-CR is linear continuously, and close agreements is observed from the comparison of the results obtained from calculations and those from experiments.
