PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driving unit which can easily change magnetic characteristics of a reactor according to a drive state of a motor or a drive mode of an automobile. PSOLUTION: The motor driving unit comprises the reactor 10, a moving means 11, a current sensor 13, an updating means 32 and a DC power source B1. The reactor 10 includes a core 110 including core members 101 to 104. The updating means 32 obtains a gap length LG corresponding to a reactor current LCRT detected by the sensor 12, generates a signal MVE for moving the member 104 so as to become the obtained gap length LG, and outputs to a voltage applying circuit 112. The circuit 112 selects a predetermined voltage based on the signal MVE and applies the voltage to a piezo element 111.
