The function of fruit and vegetable packaging containing 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) have more gained attention in the past years. 1-MCP is known as ethylene inhibitor and widely used to inhibit the ethylene action during postharvest processing of fruits and vegetables. Controlled release packaging with 1-MCP is a novel method to extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables. Environmental factors such as humidity and temperature have affected on the release rate of 1-MCP from the polymer-coated inclusion complex powder of 1-MCP. This research focused on release kinetics of 1-MCP from coated paper in various conditions. 1-MCP release behavior was investigated by dynamic vapor sorption (DVS) at a stepwise humidity change.
