In recent years, research on factors that encourage active modes of transportation in school travel has been a concern in public and academic viewpoints because it is related to health. However, the choice of travel modes for school trips in developing countries is still unclear so far. The main objective of this study is to establish a representative method for understanding how elementary school students behave in the choice of travel to school mode based on active transportation. The method used is the Theory of Planned Behavior. Data analysis uses the Structural Equation Modeling method to determine the effect of each latent variable. The results showed that in walking mode, the dominant ability factor influenced the student's intentions. While in the mode of cycling, behaviour becomes a factor that most influences student's intentions. The effort that can be made in increasing active transport students intend to increase their perception of resources and knowledge about these behaviours. Risks and difficulties in behaving must also be minimized.
