The combination of continuous-flow reactor systems with efficient and selectiveheterogeneous catalysts allows for low waste,high yielding chemical synthesis.Inorder to expand the scope of versatility for continuous synthesis of valuablecompounds,cooperation of catalyst-packed column reactors with microflowtechniques should be established;however,appropriate adjustment of flow rate aswell as in-line removal of harmful co-products are occasionally required.In this study,we investigated synthesis of a chiral a-phellandrene,which is an intermediatecyclohexadiene of a chiral diene ligand for asymmetric catalysis of several preciousmetal catalysts,and demonstrated compatibility of catalyst-packed flow reactions andorganometallic flow reactions.
