Ditopic hosts are potentially handy for the synthesis of supramolecular polymers and allosteric receptors. We developed the ditopic bisresorcinarenes 1a-e, which are composed of two resorcinarenes connected with four aliphatic chains.1 The functionalization of bisresorcinarenes with phosphonate groups produced octaphosphonate biscavitands, showing allosteric binding through the conformationally coupled two binding sites.2
