From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) point of view, cancer arises from Qi stagnation of blood and phlegm. The stagnation is believed to be the result of imbalances arising along the meridians (channels of energy or "Qi") and between their organs.Some of the important organs involved are the spleen/pancreas, kidney and liver. Stress promotes the disfunction of these organs and can perpetuate stagnation. This sticky substance accumulates in the tissues forming lumps that can become cancer. The longer and more tenacious the stagnation and blockage is, the more difficult it is to get it moving.
