Zeolites are essential industrial catalysts having strong acidity; however, whose function hardly extend into molecules larger than their narrow micropore (below1 nm). To solve such limitation, to expose acid site onto the enlarged external surface of small sized zeolite is required. Now, alkylammonium or phosphonium templates with long-alkyl-chain provides ultra-thin zeolite, where alkyl-chain creates inter-crystal space, thereby achieving to control crystal growth on several nm.1"3 In contrast, this currently important all^l-chain still prohibits flexible template design for not only material universalization and diversification but also functional development. As one example, long-chain structure forces low-cationic-charge density of the template, thereby decreasing the amount of the zeolite framework anionic acid site [AIO4-]. Thus, a minimum required functional unit of template for efficiently downsizing the crystal is desirable.
