At present time, many techniques for producing petroleum substitution have been investigated. One of those techniques is a catalytic cracking which can convert renewable resources, vegetable oils and fats, to lighter boiling range fractions such as gasoline and diesel fuel. In the previous studies the composite catalysts of zeolite containing mesoporous silica and silica-alumina were used in the catalytic cracking of heavier fractions of petroleum, and exhibited the higher conversion and product selectivity than single zeolite. In this study, the gel skeletal reinforcement method was used in order to prepare mesoporous silica and silica-alumina. The catalytic cracking of soybean oil was performed using the mixed catalysts with zeolite and mesoporous silica and silica-alumina.
