The domestication of animals or plants is generally defined as a process whereby a population is changed at the genetic level, accentuating traits that benefit humans through a process of selection. Such an artificial selection undertaken by humans issubtended by a wide range of reasons such as food or valuable commodities production, help in various types of work, e.g. transportation, or simply to enjoy companions or ornaments.
