摘要

The subcritical-Re flow around a surface-mounted square cylinder immersed in a thick turbulent boundary layer was simulated by the fine-mesh BCM-LES method, with the aspect ratio of 3~4. This study focused on the mean pressure and flow topology on the cylinder. Even at such small aspect ratio, the mean pressures on the side and base face can be divided into several regions with different features. The relationship with the mean surface flow streamlines was reported. The 2D-like region is bordered by the saddle points of the surface streamlines on the side wall. The three-dimensional flow topology near the junction and near the free end is also studied in details.
