Mid-size European navy; strong international orientation 2. 10 combatants, 2 amphibious ships, 1 joint support ship, numerous MCMV & auxiliary ships, 20 helicopters 3. 7700 military, 2200 civilian Defence Materiel Organisation 1. Procures all Dutch weapon systems, including warships 2. Maritime systems division provides engineering support, including warship concept design A major part of the RNLN's fleet will be replaced next decade, in a close collaboration of Defence Staff, the Navy and the DMO.
