Industry 4.0 in the automatic transmission production

The production of automatic passenger car transmissions at ZF is characterized by the highest demands in terms of employee qualification, complexity in production, and mastery of variant diversity. The introduction of 14.0 is intended to secure the international competitiveness of the German sites in the long term. We create the technical basis for Industry 4.0 with intelligent and networked systems that are interlinked on the basis of modern information and communication technology. This makes modern production possible in which people, machines, logistics and products communicate and cooperate directly with each other. The goal is the human-operated intelligent factory (Smart Factory).
