Portable tool 100 for connecting components by means of a connecting element, in particular riveting tool or screwing, comprising at least one measuring module 101, which is adapted to metrologically detect at least one device-specific state, at least one integrated autarkic tool control 102 with operating system, which is adapted to log the first device-specific state underlying data and at least one communication module 103, which is configured to communicate the logged data to external devices 106, 107, 108, 109, wherein the tool control 100 comprises an OPC standard based software module 104 , which is connected to the operating system and executable on the operating system to implement an exchange of data of the tool with the external device using the OPC standard.
