Cloxacillin (CLOX) is frequently used in the treatment and prevention of mastitis caused by S. aureus. The effectiveness of antimicrobial therapy in mastitis depends on several factors such as antimicrobial agent (ATM), formulation, dose, administration route and duration of treatment, among others (Mestorino, 2012). Consequently, our objectives were: i) To evaluate the pharmacokinetic behavior of CLOX in milk after intramammary (IMM) administration of 5 applications, every 12 hours of a formulationbased on CLOX-sodium (UBRESAN LAC 200, Biogenesis Bago) to high and low producing dairy cows; ii) To determine the CLOX withdrawal time in milk once the treatment regimen mentioned has been completed.
