The distance education can only be provided by universities with effective teaching management. In the big data environment, certain changes have occurred in today's distance education provided by universities. This requires that teaching management in this regard should have a new meaning for better combining the current situation of technological development and social needs to cultivate a number of talents with comprehensive skills. The big data environment provides an approach for today's distance education. The prerequisite for establishing such an approach lies in teaching interactions. The distance teaching work of universities can only develop continuously on the basis of a good communication platform, a comprehensive teaching management system and a high-caliber teaching service team. This article mainly elaborates the basic principles to be followed in the teaching management for distance education, analyzes the approach of teaching management for distance education in the context of big data, in a bid to improve students' learning enthusiasm and help them accumulate knowledge in a better manner.
