As one trend of education reform, more attentions have been paid on operative experiments than mental ones, and virtual simulation experiment has achieved pleasant progresses in China since the Ministry of Education advocated in 2013, which applied new IT technologies to improve the teaching effect of high-risk or high-cost experiments. In this paper, situational teaching is introduced into the design of virtual simulation experiment of software development courses. The construction of a virtual environment rather than the simulation of the high-risk equipment is discussed and the students' comprehensive application of various related knowledge in the virtual experimental environment is analyzed. Based on situational cognitive psychology, this paper describes the situation of virtual experiment as a triplet, puts forward the design mode of virtual simulation experiment from the perspective of situational teaching, and builds the architecture of virtual simulation experiment from the sight of computer system. Taking the requirement analysis experiment as an example, the design scheme of virtual simulation experiment is explained in detail.
