This chapter demonstrates the applicability of the previously developed finite element model of contact between rough bodies to macroproblems using the example of a model problem of the temperature estimation of gyro unit-platform assembly. Thermal contact conductance of the joint was preliminarily obtained for the range of operating contact pressures using the calculation by the column model for the micron-size roughness area. The problem was solved for bodies of unequal elastic-plastic hardening materials. Then, the macroproblem of warming up the gyro unit-platform assembly was solved accounting for the uneven distribution of pressure and correspondingly uneven thermal contact conductance over the real contact area. The significant influence of thermal expansion and tightening of the bolts fixing the gyro unit to the platform was determined.
