1. The project was a great engineering success, resulting in one of the largest full-unit tests of torrefied biomass fuel ever conducted. All four tests were conducted with a primary mandate for safety. 2. The primary reason for success was the dedication of PGE personnel, from the control room to the board room. Equally important was the commitment to planning, preparation, and proper test procedures. 3. Of the scores of test burns I’ve worked on in my career, this was the best-planned and best-executed. I was honored to have been asked to participate.
