The method involves liquefying gas (100) with assistance of the electrical power, and storing the liquefied gas (105), where oxygen extracted from the surrounding air is used as gas. Process medium i.e. washing medium such as methanol, of a power station is cooled (110) with the assistance of the liquefied gas, where the liquefied gas is vaporized for cooling the process medium. The process medium is used to separate process gas from gaseous mixture during an acid gas removal process, where carbon dioxide is absorbed from the gas mixture. An independent claim is also included for a system for separating gas from gaseous mixture.
