An update for wind turbine blade waste inventory - (PPT)

The production of wind turbine (WT) blades has grown rapidly with the development of wind power in the past 20 years. The cumulative installed wind capacity dramatically increased from 6,100 MW to 364,270 MW from 1998 to 2014. GWEC predicts the global annual growth rate of wind power will be more than 12% between 2013 and 2018 (GWEC 2014b). EWEA predicts there will be 192 GW wind capacity in 2020 supplying 14.9% of electricity in 2020 (EWEA 2014). IEA believes 15% to 18% of global electricity will be produced by wind energy in 2050 (IEA 2011). Despite their differences in detail, all the predictions say wind power will develop fast in the next few decades and provide a clean and bright future.
