Friction is critical for assembly and therefore a quality parameter for fasteners. Friction is not a single parameter but a complex system. Topcoats can (1) improve corrosion protection; (2) influence the appearance; (3) control friction values (CoF). Good formulation is critical. Many different topcoats are available. Tailored solutions are preferable and. have proven their reliability since many years in the automotive industry.
