ALESSANDRO MAZZUCOTELLI: AN ARTISTIC AND EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

Look away, see close. The title of the book of a famous art critic can represent the significance of this work. We proposed to students of the high school of Busto Arsizio (VA, 1) a work that combined math and art. We chose a "minor" art and an artist, Alessandro Mazzucotelli, whose wrought iron's works they could see in Busto Arsizio or in Milan. We kept some lessons in geometric transformations to the whole class at Politecnico di Milano. Then they analysed the Mazzucotelli's works from the mathematical and artistic point of view and they produced some fine art prints.
