Synthesis of 7-(benzyloxy)-4-chloro-6-methoxyquinazoline

7-(Benzyloxy)-4-chloro-6-methoxyquinazoline (1) was synthesized from methyl 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoate (2) through five steps including substitution, nitration, reduction, cyclization and chlorination. Its structure was confirmed by ~1H NMR and MS spectrum. The total yield of the five steps was 29.2%.
