With the continuous advancement of teachers' professional development theory, social practice becomes one of the important initiatives in the staff training of higher education institutions, which promotes professional maturity and development of young university teachers as well. Combining with the actual situation of the college, the practice experience of the ecological wetland construction project was taken as an example to discuss the importance of social practice for young university teachers, which can be summarized in the following aspects: social practice has a positive impact on the improvement of young teachers' teaching level, which is expressed as an important way for young teachers to convert knowledge and skills to teaching ability, an important means for young teachers to enrich teaching content and innovate teaching methods, the solid foundation for young teachers to guide the practice teaching and train innovative talents; social practice plays an active role in the development of young teachers' scientific research ability, it helps young teachers to grasp the scientific research direction accurately, to carry out the scientific research work with independent innovation, to improve their scientific research ability comprehensively; social practice promotes the communication and cooperation, as well as the construction of practice bases.
