Air Combat Tactical Decision Unit Based on Finite State Machine

摘要

To study unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) autonomous operation, this paper builds an autonomous air combat system (AACS) model consisting of tactical decision unit (TDU) part and execution unit (EU) part. TDU in AACS makes tactical desicisons in air combat. EU is responsible for piloting the aircraft to maneuver, operating the airborne equipment and launching weapons. TDU is the emphasis of this thesis, which is designed and realized by the theory of finite state machine (FSM). Finally, a TDU in reference to F-16' flight manual is designed and verified by simulation under two different kinds of air combat situations. Simulation results prove that TDU based on FSM is not only feasible and effective but also has the following advantages: the flow of decision can be observed and visually editing tools of TDU can be developed based on finite state diagram.
