The paper aims to study the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of irrigation and hydropower proposed pipeline from Aswan High (AHD) to Esna barrage. This project is discussed in previous research paper by the author. The idea of this project is to replace the old pump stations for irrigation which had been constructed since an early nineteenth century in first reach of Nile River by pipeline with total length 169 km utilizing the high level of AHD. Technique of irrigation system in Egypt is very old and lead to lost large amount of water and electric power, where the study area (east side of first reach) contain around 55 pump stations or more. The EIA study included; electric impact study represents in effect of AHD turbines generations by the proposed project and the power gained. Hydraulic impacts study represents in; change in water level and its effect on navigation path, water quality, and impact the project on intakes levels of thermal and drinking water stations in the study area. GIS tool is used to assembling and analyzing the data. Two mathematical models are applied to estimate the hydraulic impacts, losses and gained power. Bottlenecks along the navigation path of first reach due to the project are specified.
