Gender Analysis of Critical Thinking Disposition Instrument among University Putra Malaysia undergraduate students

This study aims to determine the level of critical thinking dispositions among the surveyed male and female (n=951) undergraduate students in University Putra Malaysia. The seven subscales of the Critical Thinking Disposition (CTD) instrument were adapted by (Pintrich, Smith, Garcia and McKeachie, 1993; Robert, 2003; Bochario, 2004; Stanovich, 2010; Manrique, 2011). The convergent construct validity of the CTD instrument was performed factor loading, Average Variance Extracted (AVE) and Composite reliability (CR) to improve the quality of this instrument. The results showed, the CTD mean score for female was 2.26 if compared to 2.34 for male students. The findings showed that there was no significant difference between male and female students.
