The use of Internet in education has created a new context known as e-learning or web-based education process, in which large amounts of information about teaching-learning interaction are endlessly generated and ubiquitously available. Development of both instrumental educational software as well as on-line web applications and databases or repositories capable of storing knowledge information are indications of the exponentially increased need of Internet and web learning systems. As of the year 2013, in addition to virtual universities, almost all classroom-based universities in Greece also offer eLearning. In Greece, there are many fields of study in which eLearning is used. There are all kinds of law concerning learning. The legal aspects of classroom-based learning are well-known but for eLearning the matter must be carefully considered. This paper will present law to legalize eLearning at the national level; law to require eLearning at the European Union level; Copyright Law; Digital Millennium Copyright Law; Technology, Education and Copyright Harmonization Law; Family Education Right and Privacy Law; Web Accessibility Initiative; eBusiness Law, and Learning Management System patent dispute.
