The patented "Fiber Patch Performing" is a fully automatic process for the preform production of high-performance fiber-reinforced plastic components. In this procedure, pre-cut fibers are linked to each other into preforms which are stable to handle within short cycle times. To meet the highest lightweight construction demands, spread semi-finished products are processed with a unidirectional fiber orientation. These are cut into a near-component contour and assembled and joined into highly optimized load-conforming laminates. This method enables the highly efficient insertion of the material exactly into the component where it is needed to carry a load. This process enables, on the one hand, to save on high-priced semifinished fiber products, and on the other hand, to achieve the highest lightweight construction characteristics. The efficient utilization of fiber intermediates in combination with short clock times during handling and tacking of the pre-cut fibers results in a process that meets the highest economic requirements for large-scale serial production.
