Vacuum kinetic spray (VKS) was applied to form a blocking layer (BL) in order to increase efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). Nano-sized TiO_2 powders with anatase phase were deposited on a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass with various coating parameters such as mass flow, gun transverse speed, and coating pass to control the BL thickness, and subsequently the film underwent sintering process. Compared to the cell without BL, open-circuit voltage (V_(oc)) and short-circuit current density (J_(sc)) were noticeably improved. Consequently, solar energy-to-electricity conversion efficiency (η) was increased up to ~5.0% which is significantly high comparating with a conventional method such as spin coating.
