The Reeducation Centre in Buzias provides residence for about 60 delinquent children and adolescents with an age between 14 and 19 years old. The majority of the population will leave Buzias when they are 18 - 19 years old. When they are released there is no aftercare and therefore the future of these adolescents is uncertain. By creating a set of activities regarding drug prevention, social training, communication skills and stimulating a positive perspective for the future, our aim is to create chances for the future for these adolescents. To optimize these chances a group of non-delinquent minors is used as a comparative control group. A part of the activities will be organized in both settings and one activity will be with the whole group. The goal of this article is to provide a comparison of the resilience , risk-factors, protective factors and coping strategies of the delinquent minors of Buzias and the students of a regular high school. The comparison will be focused on social skills, backgrounds, norms and values, intelligences, coping-strategies, communicative skills and the perspective on drug abuse, delinquency and the future. This comparison will be made on the basis of observations during the activities, individual conversation and open debates.
